SERBE is a peer reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Economics - Prilep, University “St. Kliment Ohridski”- Bitola, North Macedonia. It has been founded on the rich academic and publishing heritage, including the Yearbook of the Faculty of Economics - Prilep and Proceedings from a number of international conferences. Based on this tradition, our intention is to publish original papers which have not been previously published or submitted for reviewing to other journals.

Aim and scope

The aim of the journal is to provide opportunities for researchers to present their findings in the areas of business and economics and to assist in creation of alternative approaches for treatment of actual economic problems. Hence, we encourage experienced scholars, business practitioners as well as young researchers to submit their original work on various problems in the areas of business and economics.

More precisely, SERBE covers the following topics:

Frequency of publishing

SERBE is published twice a year.

Call for papers 

This call for papers will cover two issues. Articles can be submitted at any time throughout the year. The rolling submission deadlines, corresponding with the publication of journal issues, are September 30 and June 30. Papers must be sent to SERBE by e-mail (serbe@uklo.edu.mk ) as a Word document containing the full text, and conform to the Author guidelines.

Accepted papers will be published online ISSN and printed ISSN. Published papers are fully citable by their unique DOIs (digital object identifier).

Author guidelines

Authors are required to respect the following instructions:

 

  • The scope of submitted text, which includes an abstract, bibliography, references, tables and graphs, should not exceed more than 30.000 characters without space.
  • The first page should contain the Title and Paper Abstract. The title must be written in capital letters, font Times New Roman 12pt, bolded, centered and should not exceed three lines in length. Names of authors come under the title separated with a 1.5 line space in font Times New Roman 11pt. Next to the name of the author add a footnote with the address of the institution of each author as well as the e-mail address.
  • The abstract Heading should be written by font Times New Roman 12pt and align left. Abstract content should be fully justified with 1cm indentation, single spaced, and written with font Times New Roman 12pt, italic. The abstract should contain from 150 words to 300 words. It should clearly summarize the paper and present the objectives of the research.
  • Keywords should be placed under the Abstract and separated by one space. May be used maximum of 5 keywords. Keywords should be written with font Times New Roman 12pt. Keywords must capture the essence of full paper. Words must be listed in decreasing order of importance from left to right.
  • Paper should begin at the second page. Paper content should be fully justified, single spaced with 1cm indentation, and written by font Times New Roman 12pt. Paper subtitles should be centered, bolded, and written with font Times New Roman 12pt in small letters.
  • Tables and figures should be marked appropriate with the number (order of appearance) and the title that describes them. For tables, titles should be placed above the tables and for figures titles should be placed below the figure.
  • All references should be formatted in APA style in the text and listed in the REFERENCES section, as shown below

  • The paper should be English proofreading.

Reviewing procedure

The reviewing process is double blind. Each manuscript is sent to two independent reviewers who should provide their comments to the editor within one month. If the manuscript is accepted either with minor or major corrections, the author is next given a period of one month to implement the corrections. The final version for publishing with implemented corrections must be approved by the editor.

Processing charges and publication fee

SERBE does not have article processing charges nor article publication fee.

Open access policy

Since our intention is to popularise the work of academic researchers, we are committed to promote the dissemination of research outputs and greater global exchange of knowledge. In order to support dissemination, the Faculty of Economics - Prilep provides an unrestricted on-line access to all the issues published by SERBE.
